Notice of 2020 AGM and Update
By Brian Marantelli 13 October 2020
Hello VCCL Athletes, Committee, Members, Sponsors and Supporters,
I hope and trust that I find you all safe, healthy, and eager to rejoin your training groups and enjoy your regular tracks and pathways as restrictions are eased. As with most sporting activities, the dreaded Covid19 and related restrictions forced the 2020 Victorian Cross Country League’s season to initially be delayed and eventually cancelled. The call to restart the season in 2020 was realistically never an option and as such never came.
The club is keen to join the restart in 2021 and as we are in a very strong financial position the committee does not see any need to reduce prizemoney or increase fees. The 2019 season was a very successful season as proved by the wins in divisions three and seven as well many competitive performances in a variety of grades and age groups. Our numbers have struggled over recent seasons and we continue to seek new members of all standards and ages. The VCCL is keen to build a strong overall club and intend to cater for both male and female, Open, over 40’s 50’s and 60’s if the numbers permit. Our premier division three team is keen to step up in grade and take on the powerhouse clubs in division two.
2020 AGM
The VCCL will be conducting our Annual General Meeting shortly and as you would expect it will be short on volume and detail but is required by law. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the meeting will be held virtually using Zoom. The Zoom meeting will be on Sunday 15th November at 10am. If we haven't been able to contact you to send the Zoom meeting invitation, please contact vccl@vccl.org.au.
Vale Laura Quilty
It is with a sad heart I have to inform our members of the passing of Laura Quilty in late 2019. Laura, always smiling, was an important and much loved part of our club as a competitor and supporter. We pass on our best wishes to Sean, Donovan, Keith and Maureen.
Hope to see you all in 2021
Brian Marantelli
