Hello and welcome to all past athletes and future members,
The provisional Athletics Victoria winter cross country schedule is available, aligning our club events with parkrun and AV relays. After last season’s cancellation we hope to continue the momentum gained from our multiple pennants gained in the first two seasons of our AV involvement. With victories in division four in 2018 and division three in 2019 we look forward to taking on the traditional powerhouse clubs in division two. Add to this our original division seven team is now in division five after also having consecutive wins.
This season VCCL requires athletes for teams in divisions two, five and seven as well as teams in the Open and over 40’s female section. The club will also enter teams in over 40’s, 50’s and 60’s.
The VCCL in 2021 will have a unique range of racing options for members to choose from,
- 4 VCCL Club Handicap Races
- parkrun events every second week
- Athletics Victoria events and relays (additional AV fees)
The VCCL 2021 season registration fee includes entry to VCCL club races and fortnightly parkrun events. There also will be a sealed handicap, with prize money, for all AV events.
Club Handicap Races
The VCCL will continue to conduct a limited number of club events with the traditional end of year wrap up and presentations at Westerfolds Park.
Our club races will be our major prize money events for the season and are included within the club membership fee.
parkrun Events
In 2021 the VCCL will be conducting sealed handicap events within the parkrun competitions on a Saturday morning throughout Australia. This will be at no additional cost to VCCL members and will simply require members to nominate the VCCL as their club with parkrun and wear the VCCL club singlet. Former VCCL members participating at parkrun can again be a part of the VCCL whilst continuing at their normal parkrun venue.
Athletics Victoria Events
To compete in the AV races and relays, athletes must register with AV and nominate the VCCL as their club. Athletes, registered with another AV club for summer racing, can nominate the VCCL as their alternate club for winter events. AV registrations open April 8th.
- VCCL membership $80 includes all VCCL club events and parkrun
- AV membership – Open, $170
