Adina Morrow, round three winner

With the Athletics Victoria cross country season having a two week break, the VCCL conducted two parkruns with sealed handicaps over 5km. The first (week 3) was won by Adina Morrow, her eighth VCCL win, running at the Lalor venue in the time of 21:55, only two seconds outside her best. The minor placings were filled by the very consistent David Page and Julian Harris. Fastest time in the multi venue event was Francis Dowdle with a time of 17:18 competing at Parkville.

The following week (week 4), with Adina and Pagey not racing, Julian Harris was able to capture the win, racing at Mullum Mullum in the time of 18:40. Julian had a comfortable margin over Francis Dowdle and Greg Foran. The Mullum Mullum win was Julian’s seventh with the club and second at the venue. Francis in his first season with the Victorian Cross Country League was the fastest competitor with a great run of 16:52 at Parkville. It was great to see Greg back in action with the club after a break of six years.

This Saturday we race in the Athletics Victoria competition at Lardner Park over 8km. The 8km events are a mass start but times vary from 12:30 to 2:00, depending on divisions.
