VCCL Winter Season 2025

Hi members, athletes and supporters,
Welcome to the 2025 Victorian Cross Country League, trusting all are fit, well and rearing to go for another winter season.
The VCCL committee for season 2025 will consist of Brian Marantelli, Mark O’Brien, Jim Berrington, David Page, Tony Rendina, Joel Donnar, Oscar Robinson and Michael Marantelli. After many years of service it is sad to announce that Machelle Caruana and Janine McKerron stepped down from the committee. Machelle, a member since the early 1990’s was club secretary for nearly twenty years and along with her late husband, Joe Caruana was an integral part of the VCCL. Janine, who joined the club in 2008 has over the years filled any vacancies when required from marshall, coffee provider, raffle ticket seller and of course competitor. Janine has once again volunteered to assist, when needed at AV events.
The VCCL will continue to compete in the Athletics Victoria competition and welcome any new and returning members for season 2025. The club will continue to pay the AV relay fees but AV athletes must remember to register and pay for individual AV races. The VCCL registration fee has been set at $70, life members and first year athletes are free. New members will need to purchase a club singlet. Due to the complexity of the AV entry system new members and life members will be asked to pay the $70 registration when registering with Athletics Victoria. Please pay the $70 to AV and the club will then refund the amount to the individual athlete.
To reduce the overall cost to members the club will once again provide a refund to members after the completion of four individual races (relays not included).
The Athletics Victoria starts on May 10th at Hanging Rock and concludes as usual with the Tan Relays on September 20th.
Marcus Boxall has once again generously attended to our website with a brand new look and all relevant information.
Janine McKerron with the help of Oscar Robinson will update the VCCL (Victorian Cross Country League) Facebook pages. New competitors please register at VCCL 2025 (up running shortly) for information regarding relay teams, car pooling etc.
Julian Harris and Oscar will also operate a VCCL instagram page (details to follow).
